Petey is a handsome 8 1/2 month old male American staffordshire terrier. He weighs 42 pounds of sweetness and was rescued moments before he was scheduled to be euthanized
at a high kill shelter in L.A. Petey starts off a little shy and fearful, but once he feels secure, which happens quickly, he is the most affectionate puppy ever. Once he trusts you, he will
lay on you and be as close as he can to you. Petey will be your best friend and love you unconditionally. He truly wants to love and be loved, and seems to gain confidence by
having another friendly dog in the home with him. He is dog friendly and loves to play. Petey needs a committed and loving family that will give him time to
decompress, settle in and gain confidence. He is housebroken, crate trained, loves sleeping on your bed if allowed, or sleeping in a dog bed outside of his crate as well. He is
well behaved in the home, walks great on a leash, and rides great in the car. We think an adult family, or a family with older kids would be best for Petey. He would also love a home
with a secure yard to run and play.
We do encourage Petey’s family to provide Petey with stability, consistency, structure, tons of love and a little training to set this amazing puppy up for success. He is neutered, microchipped, received
his wellness exam, his fecal test, and is current on all of his vaccinations.
