Hello Doggie Bonez family. We need your help again to find a fantastic foster family or adopter for sweet Honey. She is an approximately 3 1/2 years old brindle dog that got her name because of her color and her sweet personality.
This is what her current owner wrote about her:
“Honey is extremely smart, already knows so many tricks, and understands complete sentences. For example, she knows: go to bed… and she will go to her crate or your bed if that is allowed. Or, go get a drink, get a toy, sit, down,…and even load up (to get her into the car). Honey is both food and prey driven, and she learns new things very quickly. If she’s thirsty or hungry she will make direct eye contact with you and bark. She purrs when she thinks about food. Yup. She Purrs. It’s pretty funny. Honey lives to play around the house. Chase toys, balls, etc but her favorite is to play tug of war. She is very loyal and bonds quickly. Honey does not bark very much. You have to encourage her to do so. It’s pretty funny to watch her wind up to a full bark. Next to playing, Honey likes walks. When at home she is selective about who she allows coming around the house. Honey needs reassurance that it’s ok to allow new people into her home. New situations make her a little anxious, but reassuring her works very well. Honey is very sensitive and will shrivel up to a ball if she thinks you are scolding her, are unhappy about anything, or even give her a dirty look. A mere wag of the finger and a furrowed brow is plenty enough of a scolding for her. One thing to look out for is that she can not be left alone for longer than 5 hours because she needs to pee often. Honey has been leash trained and walks well with you. She easily will jump into the car. She loves, loves, loves car rides! But Honey is not good with small dogs. Honey is basically a very happy dog.”
Honey is the perfect dog for an active family to take on adventures. She’s loyal, protective, and a fast learner. If you feel like you can give this happy dog an adventurous life, please submit a completed adoption application found under the forms tab. This way, we can schedule a meet and greet.
